Valerio Battista, CEO Prysmian Group: “The win has been the perfect Season finale to mark our role as an enabler of electrification processes by leading innovation also in E-mobility”

Prysmian Group, world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry is delighted to join the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team in announcing that at the 2023 Hankook London E-Prix on July 29 and 30, Jake Dennis has secured the ABB FIA Formula E World Driver's Championship.

Throughout the season Dennis has demonstrated sheer brilliance on the track, displaying his skill, determination, and passion. His exceptional performances, together with the support of a remarkable team, have propelled him to the very top. The achievement is a testament to the collaborative spirit and utter determination that thrives within the team. In addition, Dennis’ championship points together with those earned by his teammate André Lotterer, were enough for Avalanche Andretti Formula E to claim third place in the Team’s World Championship standings; the highest ever finish for the team in their Formula E history.

Prysmian and Avalanche Andretti Formula E announced their official partnership in January 2023. Within the agreement the Group will also provide solutions to support transmission of power and information across the Team’s sustainable electrification efforts.

Prysmian Group CEO Valerio Battista stated: “Jake Dennis’ win has been the perfect ending to our first Season as a sponsor of the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team. We have been the first cable maker to partner with a Formula E team, with the goal of strengthening our value proposition by promoting innovation also in the strategic sector of e-mobility. With the installation of our PRY-CAM monitoring system in the team’s garage to monitor energy consumption and quality we have taken a first step to make it happen”.

Andretti Autosport Chief Commercial Officer Doug Bresnahan stated: “Since beginning the partnership with Prysmian Group in January 2023, it has been an incredible journey to claiming the World Driver’s Championship. Their support and shared passion for innovation and sustainability throughout this Season have been instrumental in driving us towards this Championship triumph. We firmly believe that partnerships like these are the catalysts for advancing the future of motorsport and promoting the vital message of a greener tomorrow. Together with Prysmian Group, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of electric racing and shaping a more sustainable future as preparations already begin for next Season”.

Andretti is a mainstay of Formula E as an entrant since the inaugural Season. The team has seen a success throughout its 116 races in the electric Championship, claiming 32 podiums, 10 wins and 12 pole positions throughout its nine Seasons. The Season 9 Title marks a pinnacle moment in the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team's history, with Dennis becoming the first driver of the American outfit to win a World Driver’s Championship, as well as the first British driver to do so in the all-electric Formula E series. The third place in the Team’s standings also marks the highest finish the team have had in their entire Formula E history.
